What is the ministry and gifts of Deacons?

The office of deacon as set forth in scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ. Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, of exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies, and sound judgment should be chosen for this office.

 

What do Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church Deacons Do?

1.  Assist the pastor in visitation of the sick and distressed.

2.  Assist the Session (our ruling board of elders) in visitation of the congregation

3.  Minister to the special needs in our church through prayer chains, meals, and other contacts with the

    Congregation.

4.  Minister to the special needs in our community, developing ways to gather funds, food, and clothing through

     Helpline and other projects.

5.  Prepare communion.

6.  Provide one representative to the Nominating Committee

7.  Provide other fellowship and caring services as required.
