Children & Youth

 

Here at Rolling Bay we believe that we are all Children of God with different needs and requirements for each stage of our lives. Through Children, Youth and Family Ministry and in partnership with our Directors for Children and Youth we offer a full program for children and youth along with Nursery and toddler care.

 

Nursery

This area of our church is going through a revamp both in the physical plant and also in staffing responsibilities. But the Nursery is open and staffed prior to worship services and for special events.  Parents can be contacted throughout worship by a  staff member wearing a pager.

 

Church School

Happens on Sunday morning during 10:30am worship service. Children and teens begin in the worship service  and then leave for a time in age appropriate classes:

 

• K-2  grade equivalent meet in the lower Jones building for rotation model classes                
• 3 – 6 grade equivalent meet in the lower Jones building for rotation model classes
• 7—12 grade equivalent meet in the youth room

During the year we offer many programs for children and Youth. Vacation Bible School happens in the summer for a week of bible based fun and during Advent the Children and youth retell the Christmas Story  through drama, and music..

 

Rolling Bay Presbyterian is committed through its leadership to offer multi-generational programs throughout the year.

 

STAFF

Director for Children and Youth for Christian education is Kathleen Bullivant, a member of the church for eight years and a teacher of K-5 graders at The Island School here on the island. She enjoys spending time with young people of all ages. Formally Department Head for Early Childhood Education at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton NJ.
