Youth Group News!
Theme for this Year:
Last year we walked through the Book of John and discovered Abundance—abundance is feeling the fullness of God’s love in everything we do!
This year we think, act and talk about “Practicing Habits of Abundance.” How do we continue to feel God’s love even in the midst of tough times, even when faith doesn’t feel quite so real? It’s possible and we will find out how. So come to all of our events and fellowships this year. There is much that is planned, all seeking to help our youth make the habits of God’s amazing love REAL in their everyday lives!
New Book for the Book Club this Year for 9th – 12th graders!
We will start our first book group meeting (for 9th – 12th graders) on Wednesday, September 22nd from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. This year, please buy Huston Smith’s The Soul of Christianity. It costs $13 in paperback; read the introduction for the first meeting. It’s a challenging but great book about what is Christianity and why believe in it. Smith has written on all the major religions and has taught at MIT and UC Berkeley; he is a smart and beautiful man! We meet at Streamline Diner and at 8:30 a.m. Jimbo can give you a ride to school; bring $10 for breakfast each time.
